I found myself with an opportunity for a career change in 2008, and the first placement agency I contacted in my job search was Jean Simpson Personnel Services. I also registered with several other job service companies, each of which was all but non-responsive after initial contact. The staff at Jean Simpson was professional, enthusiastic and energetic in their efforts to find me the “perfect” job. I was fortunate to find a position with a well-established land services company just in time to experience the roller coaster ride of the Haynesville Shale natural gas play. Like so many military spouses, I’ve spent the last 25 years following my husband’s career as he advanced at the expense of my own...you know, having to start over at each new location. We moved to Bossier City in 1993 and I again began my search for my next starting position, but this time I tried an employment service.
I wanted the opportunity to “test drive” a few positions to find one which would provide me with just the right combination of working conditions. Jean Simpson could not have done a more thorough job and I was placed within a week of completing my application. As each temporary position came to a close, Jean Simpson immediately placed me in another and after a few temporary positions I accepted an offer of permanent employment. Seven years later my husband accepted an assignment in the DC area following his retirement in 2000 and he began his corporate career. Again, following him and having to start over at each location.
We are now on our fourth relocation since and just moved back to the Bossier City area. This time the first thing I thought of was contacting Jean Simpson. Within a week I was interviewing. Tomorrow will be my first day at a new position I already know I am going to love. I had two interviews with my new employer and knew right away they were the kind of people I wanted to work with. It could not have been easier and Jean Simpson made all the difference. They knew exactly the kind of setting I wanted. They were professional, informative, supportive and kept me up to date during every step of the process.
